Our Board

The Institute's Board of Directors (BoD) is appointed by the Minister of Justice and consists mainly of university professors nominated by the following universities: National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Democritus University of Thrace, Panteion University, University of Piraeus, and University of the Aegean. The members of the Board of Directors alternate annually in the chairmanship of the Board. The Board of Directors of the Institute also includes a representative of the Rhodes Bar Association and a representative of the Piraeus Bar Association, as well as the director of the Institute, who is appointed by the Minister of Justice following a nationwide call for applications. The term of office of the Board of Directors and the director is three years.

 

 

 

For the three-year period 2022-2025, the Board of Directors of the Institute is composed of: Ioannis Seimenis (professor at the University of the Aegean, chairman of the Board of Directors for the period from December 15, 2022, to December 14, 2023), Miltiadis Sarigiannidis (Associate Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Vice-Chair), Apostolos Karagounidis (Professor at Democritus University of Thrace), Garifalia Athanasiou (professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), Sofia Galanis (assistant professor at Panteion University), Petros Liakouras (professor at the University of Piraeus), Aristea Sinanioti-Maroudi (professor at the University of Piraeus), Vasileios-Nikolaos Ypsilantis (lawyer in Rhodes), Savvas Pavlidis (lawyer in Rhodes, alternate member), Polychroni Perivolari (lawyer in Piraeus), Ilias Pollalis (lawyer in Piraeus, alternate member) and Nikolaos Skourtos (lawyer in Rhodes), director of the Institute.
