Since 1995, the Aegean Institute has been collaborating with Tulane University in New Orleans, USA, in organizing a three-week summer course program in the fields of Maritime Law, Law of the Sea, and International Environmental Law, with an emphasis on Marine Environmental Protection Law. The program is held annually, is aimed primarily at undergraduate students, and is attended by students from various law schools in the United States, as well as fellows of the Aegean Institute from Greece and abroad (mainly from the Balkan countries, the Black Sea region, and the Mediterranean). To date, the Institute has offered 226 scholarships for the program to Greek students and lawyers, as well as students from Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, the former Yugoslavia, Croatia, Ukraine, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, India, Tanzania, and Chad.
